Junie B. Jones came to our local indie bookstore yesterday! It was so much fun. She was adorable and stayed so true to character! That's my almost-4-year-old, Lucy, in the blue leaning into the taped aisle. . . we're reading our first Junie B. book this week and she was so excited to go see her in person.

My cousin, Charlie Luke, is running for Salt Lake City Council this fall and I've been helping with his campaign graphics.

These are some of the little doodle people I did for Rachael Herrscher, the CEO and founder of TodaysMama.com. She gave a presentation for TEDx here in Salt Lake on Friday, May 20. You can watch the video here on youtube, it is fantastic! I had fun working on this project with her.

Going through my art bins and files, these little paintings resurfaced this weekend. What a fun surprise! I'd kind of forgotten about them. I was doing some concept design for Jared Gold who was considering a line of children's clothing for his brand Black Chandelier. He envisioned this whole cast of crazy characters. . .

I'm participating in my second annual Picture Book Marathon. That means I write or illustrate a picture book a day for 26 of the 28 days in February. I've been writing most days but here towards the end, I've really been excited about painting.

Here are two pics which actually belong to the same book, A Snow Trip. It's about a weekend trip into the mountains of Wyoming to go play in the snow and all the things she finds warmth and joy in. . . a cup of hot cocoa and a pile of books among them.
